About Dr. Brown
Hi, I am Dr. Arika Brown, D.C., a long time resident of Wichita. I attended Wichita State University, where I received a B.S. degree in Chemistry, Physics and Biology. After receiving my undergraduate degree, I moved to Kansas City to attend Cleveland Chiropractic College, where I graduated top of my class. After completing my resident, I was an Associate Doctor for one of the largest chiropractic offices in Kansas. However, nothing could keep me from this wonderful community and the people in it and moved back to Wichita. I have been in practice in Wichita for 10 years.
About Dr. Barta
Dr. Anthony Barta, DC graduated from the University of Kansas with a bachelor degree in exercise science. He then attended Cleveland University in Kansas City, where he graduated with honors and earned his Doctor of Chiropractic. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Hayley and his pitty puppy as well as exercising and watching any of his favorite sports teams play. After graduating, he and Hayley moved to Nashville, TN for her career as a Surgical Neurophysiologist. In Nashville, Dr. Barta worked at two different chiropractic offices, as an intern and as an associate. Recently, Hayley was able to transfer within her company back to Kansas where they are both very excited to serve the people of the Wichita area. They are also very excited to start and raise a family in the Wichita area. Dr. Barta really enjoys working with patients to help improve their quality of life, and his true passion is working with athletes. Rather than taking a one size fits all approach to care, he prefers to tailor care to each patients' specific needs, using whatever techniques necessary.
Our Story
What is Chiropractic
Chiropractic is the treatment of the spine and nervous system. The nervous system is the driving force for every organ, cell, and tissue in the body. Therefore, when the nervous system is compromised, so is the bodies health and wellness. Dr. Brown will find where the nervous system is being irritated and remove that nerve interference through spinal adjustments. These adjustments, also restore proper joint positioning which helps prevent further damage and deterioration to the spine (arthritis).
In our office, we believe in a holistic approach to treating patients. Our focus is on removing physical, chemical, and emotional stresses that cause irritation to the patients bodies. It is not only important to adjust the spine, but also to focus on the surrounding soft tissue that causes the symptoms of pain.
On your initial visit, Dr. Brown will utilize equipment that allows the patient to see how their bodies are working against themselves due to muscle imbalance and neurological irritation. Along with spinal adjustments, we believe it is important to retrain the body's poor posture and weak core muscles. To help the body become more stable, Dr. Brown also uses cold laser therapy, electrodes, customized stretches, and personal trainers to patients in their healing process.
